CYCLOP-3D
is a georeferenced aerial videographic system. It is based on the use of
digital image technology, GPS and photogrammetric features. This system was designed
by GÉO-3D for the purpose of analyzing, monitoring and validating linear
elements such as shorelines, lake and water stream banks, power lines, pipelines,
roads, railways, etc.

In addition to linear elements, the CYCLOP-3D is well-adapted to the study
and monitoring of specific sites such as dikes and dams, camp sites, urban
areas and other infrastructures or land of limited surface area.
 The
CYCLOP-3D system is well adapted to the following types of applications:
- Planning
new rights-of-way:
- Planning
linear projects and validating new corridors and layouts
- Land
use planning near and across the right-of-way, and planning access roads
- Locating
nearby installations
- Monitoring
shore and coastal erosion
- Monitoring
sylvicultural work
- Planning
and/or monitoring agricultural work
| - Monitoring
existing rights-of-way:
- Positioning
infrastructure assets
- Monitoring
vegetation growth in rights-of-way, and:
- Planning
vegetation control operations in rights-of-way
- Infrastructure
inspection and maintenance surveys (erosion, etc.)
- Monitoring
and maintaining access road
- Other
applications

 The
CYCLOP-3D data collection is split in two phases:
Phase
1 involving geo-referenced image data collection from an aircraft with
KRONOS
Software.
Phase
2 involving image interpretation work (similar to photo-interpretation
work) with CYCLOP-3D
Analyst Software.
The
CYCLOP-3D
Mosaic Software
is used to generate mosaics from CYCLOP-3D vertical imagery.
