| Some
of the features offered with KRONOS include: | |
DIGITAL
RECORDING | Digital
image recording from IEEE1394 (FireWire) digital cameras: from 640x480
resolution to 1600x1200. |
CAMERA
PARAMETER CONTROL | Shutter
speed, CCD iris, White balance & color control, CCD gain, Brightness, Sharpness,
etc. can be controlled within KRONOS interface. |
COMPATIBILITY | NMEA-compliant
(National Marine Electronics Association). |
DISTANCE
or TIME-BASED | Image
recording at regular distace intervals, or according to a fixed frame rate (eg.
15 FPS). |
OVERVIEW
MAP | KRONOS
user interface as well as the interactive overview map feature facilitates quality
control of positioning data in real time both during survey operations. Location
is shown in real time over a digital map. The map can display .SHP files from
other sources as well as allow users to query displayed objects. The GPS trace
may also be displayed in real time for navigation. |
| Optional
features include the following: |
CLIENT- SERVER | Client-Server
architecture: KRONOS clients are controlled from a single KRONOS Server station
(Start/Stop recording, filenames, status monitoring, etc.) Manages several
cameras simulateously and allows other applications to interface with the
system, using network API. |
AUTO-IRIS | Quality
control on incoming positioning data as well as on imagery can be performed in
real-time using built-in camera and PS controls, including an auto-iris
optional feature for controlling camera parameters and lens aperture. This setting
can be set from a predetermined portion of the screen and applied to entire viewable
area. |
PPS | The
KRONOS PPS option is available with KRONOS, enabling the use of the GPS' "Pulse
per second (PPS)". This allows for approximately one (1) millisecond
accuracy of GPS time assignment to digital images, translating in greater positional
accuracy altogether. |
DMI | KRONOS
DMI feature enables the user to specify the image capture frequency as
per requirements, whether it is on the basis of distance (e.g.: 1 image every
5 meters) or fixed frequency (e.g.: 5 frames per second). The KRONOS DMI option
may also be used with a Distance Measurement Unit (DMI) to collect chainage
information, to trigger image capture at fixed distances, and for linear referencing
purposes. |
VOC | Users
optionally have the possibility of recording georeferenced voice annotations
during a survey. The VOC feature is useful to record attributes in real time,
making it possible to describe attributes hardly visible on images. |
GOF
RT | GPS
Odometer Filter used to correct and smooth GPS data in real time (RT). GOF
PP also available as an option with GPSAnalyst
software,
to use during post-processing (PP) operations. |
